OUR STORY
Redwood Sanctuary Farms is owned by two brothers...Andrew & Bryan. The original family farm began in the rolling hills of the English Countryside, some hundred years ago. Their grandfather owned and operated a 500 acre farm where their mother grew up amongst sprawling wheat field, beautiful orchards and creeks. The farm also had potato fields, cattle, sheep and of course chickens, cats & dogs.
The Parker brothers still return to the family
farm on a regular basis and come back to
California inspired by everlasting memories
of another world.
THE FOREST ELEMENT
The redwood forest is realm where sunlight and shadows
cast a cool and balanced atmosphere for a wide variety of
vegetable plants that thrive with the trees. An eco system that brings
out a particular flavor and nutrient content in the gardens yield.
Our vegetable and fruit trees are grown without pesticides
and we will be planting a wide variety of indigenous flower
to attract bees and hummingbirds to create natural pollination of the gardens.
FARMING METHODS
Redwood Sanctuary farming is inspired by a variety of holistic practices which include permaculture, syntropic agro-forestry, regenerative farming and no-dig farming. These disciplines are all connected to the growth dynamics of the forest and how to replace a forest's production with edible varieties of trees, bushes, soft plants, stalks and vines. Raised bed gardens are built low so the plants can tap through into the fertile forest bed...a forest bed that has been in development for thousands of years.
